Accidents are expensive in terms of the human impacts as well as financially – costing £6.2 million pounds annually in lost time to employers.
Focusing on safety helps to prevent accidents, and the HSE is working with the Union to:
- prevent accidents
- devise preventative measures
- define the safe working practices essential to good working environments
- ensure compliance with regulations
